INTRODUCTION

The Photo Gallery is a selection from my photographic archives of more than 15,000 photographs taken during my visits to Sri Aurobindo Centers, AUM Conferences and Integral Yoga Retreats as well as the many years I have lived in the Ashram and Auroville.

It is even more than this however for it is a collaboration with many photographers who have generously contributed their finest photos to make this collection as extensive as possible.  I am especially grateful to Arvind Akki, a truly gifted photographer, for his photos of Ashram life and Ashramites, to Sergey Mekhontsev, for this photographs of disciples and devotees in America, and his special ability to capture people at their best, revealing often their inner as well as their outer beauty, to Maria Alicia, founder of Auromira in Colombia, for capturing the beauty of this special and blessed land and that of the disciples and devotees at Auromira, and lastly, to a friend and collaborator from Siberia, Alexey Zheleznyak, who has been helping to set up the equipment in the Recording Studio for interviews of disciples and devotees taking numerous photos as well.
